| Preservation of the environment |
| Innovation for preservation
| | | More than 80% of transported merchandise is carried by road. In its position as privileged partner to the road transport industry, Michelin is working every day to make movement of goods and people more respectful of the environment.
|
 | This strategy is clearly seen in the various stages of a tyre's life from extraction of raw materials to recycling at the end of its life. By using Michelin tyres, you are actively contributing to the protection of the environment. |
| Exceptional mileage performance
| |
The mileage performance of Michelin tyres is amonth the best on the market. The tread patterns and the rubber compounds are designed to enable optimised wear according to its position on the vehicle (steer, drive and trailer axles) and its application (long distance, regional, urban, on/off road). Michelin tyres therefore give the best pay back on the investment made in energy and materials for their manufacture. | | |
| Substantial fuel savings
| | Low rolling resistance tyres from the A2 Energy range offer up to 6% fuel savings compared with traditonal ranges on the market. By redusing fuel consumption they also reduce the emission of tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
| The exceptional life of the Michelin casing
| | Michelin casings are designed to last several lives. - Regrooving and retreading with Michelin enables the full potential of the casing to be exploited.
- They also offer an increased mileage performance without having to change the casing which makes up 70% of its mass.
More than 9/10 Michelin casings are found to be acceptable for the Michelin RemiX process : which means there are less used tyres to be disposed of. The Michelin RemiX process also offers the same low rolling resistance technology as a new tyre.
| A high performance environmental management system
| |
 | To protect the environment throughout the manufacturing process, Michelin has developed an Environmental Management System which means every employee involved in the process is contributing. A vast training plan and certification process has resulted in the ISO14001 certification of almost all of the production sites. Today, the principal truck tyre manufacturing sites, new and Remix are certified ISO14001. |
